Memorial Day Weekend

The Schweizer Family has their annual "reunion" every Memorial Day weekend at the Tennessee Property. It's fun to catch up with everyone, and to see lots of people, although with a 3 year old it tends to prove a bit more difficult to actually visit with everyone. However, we had a good time, and Addie seemed to have fun as well. Liz and I spent most of our time chasing the girls around, but we really did get to visit with some other people. :)

Addie, Jack, and Granddaddy. Jack was being SO sweet to Addie, and kept finding her special heart shaped rock she was throwing for her over and over.

Penny had a FANTASTIC time playing in the dirt.

Addie is nothing if not classy.

And, since it WAS her birthday while we were there, why not have another Birthday Cake! :)

Love these sweet cousins.

This picture of Granddaddy and Addie just makes me laugh.

All in all we had a fun few days at the Property. The girls ended the trip with trying out Addie's tent and her new Princess Sleeping Bag (which they both fit in together).

THREE.

Three. I can NOT believe my TINY little baby is THREE. Seriously. How in the world did that happen?!

A few minutes old.

First Birthday.

Second Birthday.

Third Birthday.

She is a sweet, dramatic, sensitive, loving, hilarious, crazy, fun loving THREE year old. Who we adore. She is a Mama's Girl. She loves her Sassy. She is obsessed with GiGi and Granddaddy. She talks about her best friend Penny non stop. She has become quite the little social butterfly. She loves to be on the go all the time. She still hates to sleep. She loves anything pink. She also loves anything with a princess on it. She loves to read books, and will read as many as you will sit down to read to her. She loves her cousins. She would eat Mini Chips Ahoy cookies and nothing else if you'd let her (and some days we do). She loves ballet. And dancing. She makes up dances and does them repeatedly in the right order over and over. She also chooses one song and then assigns her dances to that song. And will only perform to THAT song. She LOVES to dress up. She is in costume every single day. She does NOT like to take off her costumes to go places (the grocery store, storytime at the library, etc). She would rather be outside than inside. She LOVES the water, but hates sprinklers. She would stay in a pool all day if we let her. She keeps up busy 24/7, and we couldn't love her any more!

I decided we'd do a fun survey with her each year, to see how her answers will change.

So, happy, happy birthday my sweet girl! We love you to the moon, back, and around again.

Birthday Breakfast

We had a special Birthday Breakfast for the Birthday girl. She requested White Powdered Doughnuts, so that's what she got. Ryan was able to come down for a VERY quick trip (less than 24 hours!), so he got to see his sweet baby girl ON her birthday, so she was very excited he got to be there!) (Extra Daddy points for that trip!!) :)

Addie's 3rd Birthday Party

When I asked Addie what sort of birthday party she wanted to have this year, she didn't even hesitate before answering that she wanted a Princess Tea Party. So, with LOTS of help from Aunt Liz, and Granddaddy helping us setting up the space, we were ready. We decided to just have it at the Tennessee property this year. We weren't sure if we would even still be living in Birmingham, PLUS then all of our family wouldn't have to travel in what was already a CRAZY, BUSY month for all of us. So, we had the tea party for just Addie and the rest of the Greats (Sadly, Iain got sick the night before and had to stay home with Uncle Jeremy, luckily we got to see him the next day, but he was certainly missed!). It turned out adorable, and Addie LOVED it, which is really what was important.

The invite.

My sweet (almost) 3 year old. :) (This was before her party day...but trying on her birthday outfit)

Granddaddy cleared out an amazing little space beside his cabin for the party, as provided us a little table and some fun lights!

Thanks to LOTS of help from Aunt Liz, we found all sorts of fun Tea Party dishes!

Ready for the Royal Princesses and Princes.

Granddaddy also made them this little path to walk down to get to the table.

The cake. Since we were going to be in the middle of nowhere, I had to actually order a cake from WalMart's bakery (nearest grocery store...and still 45 minutes away!). SO, against all my better judgement, I let Addie come with me to the store to order one, and let her pick it out all by herself. It actually turned out really cute and she thought it was the best thing she had ever seen in her life.

Waiting to blow out her candles while everyone was singing.

Eating her cake just as ANY princess should. Ha. (She did this before anyone could stop her, we did serve her THAT piece of cake, and served everyone else the rest. Ha.)

While the guests were eating, We set up Addie's birthday present for all of the Greats to play on. Needless to say, Addie LOVES it, and we plan to spend most of our summer playing on this fun slide!

Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated our sweet girl with us!
